NRG-5 emergency ration

The world-famous NRG-5 has been used for many years by aid organizations, in disaster relief, by the military and navy (sea rescue rations), in expeditionary operations, and especially in civil defense as emergency rations or for food storage. NRG-5 is a type of cereal bar that consists primarily of baked wheat.

NRG-5 is ready to eat and requires no cooking. The product tastes delicious (sweet) and is ideal for everyone (even small children). NRG-5 has extremely high nutritional values, and one 500-gram pack (a two-day ration) corresponds to 2,300 calories.

It can be eaten straight from the package or mixed with water. It's also suitable for preparing baby food or porridge.

NRG-5 is lactose-free, completely vegetarian, and contains no animal-derived ingredients. It is completely free of genetically modified ingredients and is suitable for everyone (including all cultures and religions).

The advantage, in addition to its small footprint, is its easy storage – even under extreme conditions. As a compressed food, NRG-5 has the highest possible nutritional-to-weight ratio. Vitamins and minerals are also added to NRG-5, so that NRG-5 alone provides the body with basic nutrients for several weeks.

NRG-5 is used in the initial phase following disasters, earthquakes, or in cases of widespread food shortages. Various aid organizations have now built up stockpiles of NRG-5 to enable rapid response worldwide. For many years, NRG-5 has been a strategic component in supply problems. This emergency food is used wherever people are in need.

In the military sector, NRG-5 is used as an emergency ration by the German Armed Forces and the French Army.

Each pack contains 9 bars. The 500-gram unit is additionally vacuum-sealed in a sturdy laminated aluminum foil (water- and gas-tight).

The minimum shelf life of NRG-5 is 20 years.
